July 2023 - Monthly Review

July is always so hot. Luckily, I was able to stay indoors and work on the painting projects. I have a table set up in my studio for my kiddo to hang out and do creative coloring and art projects with me (fizzing baking soda paint, custom coloring pages, DIY piñata). We are quite the artsy duo. Together we have also tackled learning to better use the cricut machine for some fun, low pressure projects and cheering on the printer to help it break down less (can you believe it actually works?).

This month’s projects centered around love. Couple portrait, wedding icons, and some new offerings. Did you see the Custom Wedding Colors blog post? The cutest and most personal way to capture a couple’s world through color!

Remember how I said I was practicing with the cricut? Well, I can use it to make all the labels. Labels for bottles, bowls, signs, and more. Plus it helped create the perfect stencil to paint florals on a pair of swans that match the wedding invitation. I asked Instagram what they thought I was painting and they thought either a champagne bottle (very likely) or a wooden shoe (please, someone ask me to paint this)!

In between painting my regular projects, I received a commission that is a drop-everything-and-do-this type of project and, let me tell you, it’s going to be a big one! I finished painting the piece and it has been approved for installation (!!). More details to come in September for the reveal!

Save the date for August 26, 2023. I’ll be at the Maker Faire Tulsa at the Exchange Center at Expo Square with some new pieces and merch. Hope to see you there!
