Time to Make the Art

As your piece increases in size and complexity, it takes more time to illustrate. A base price for custom art is generally piece dimensions plus number of subjects and artist expertise. Ex: 8x10 portrait of two pets could be 8 x 10 + $10 additional subject + $20 artist expertise = ~$110 at a minimum. Additional costs can be required to cover art supplies, digitization, shipping, and redrawing fees.

Supplies

In addition to the hours to create a piece, it also takes a variety of supplies to make beautiful art. Depending on the medium, it can include paper, paints, pens, markers, and so forth. Then there’s packaging, postage, and gas milage to make sure your piece arrives to you safe and sound.

Artist’s Skills & Availability

While I want to paint and illustrate for everyone, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. During busy seasons, like Valentine’s Day, wedding/anniversary season, and Christmas, availability is on a first come first served basis. If demand is too high, I reserve the right to adjust prices to better keep up with demand. I promise to keep pricing fair and transparent for your project needs.

Overhead

What else is going on behind the scenes of the studio? There are scanners, printers, software, cameras, websites, and so much more that take time and funds to keep up and running. Your art purchase helps keep business running smoothly!
