June 2023 - Monthly Review
It’s celebration season: weddings, parties, engagements, showers, holidays, birthdays, and more!
The start of summer brought long sunshine filled days with lots of paintings to help celebrate.
It’s my favorite surprise when a wedding I have been working on finally happens. Often, I don’t know the date of the event to keep an eye out. Tags on Instagram from the event planner and photographer start rolling in sharing the pics featuring my art. Here’s an example of a signature cocktail menu with watercolor icons to further give a personal touch to the couple’s day. They usually feature something special to the couple, like their pet or where they met.
I also had the pleasure of painting a couple champagne bottles featuring the event’s crest. What a perfect keepsake for the couple to pop and have forever.
One event that was no surprise, was an engagement party for a couple I know! I loved working the the host, Ashley of Farthing Events, and the Inviting Place to create a few custom pieces to use on the save the date, invitation, envelope liners, and more. Everything turned out beautifully and was used throughout the event: on the ice cream lids, cocktail napkins, and don’t forget the custom Veuve Cliquot painted to match the invitation!
Did you see that I taught my first watercolor class in June? Tulsa Country Club hosted a paint night and we had a blast creating our own Tulsa skyline watercolor paintings
