December 2022 - Monthly Review

I hope your December was jolly, warm, cozy, festive, joyous, and magical! I took some time off to enjoy the season after painting so many gifts. It was so lovely. Nothing terribly new to report for the month, but I will use this post to reminisce about the whole year.

Hot off the heels of being published in the Tulsa Scout Guide Vol 4 in 2021, I was on everyone’s radar for 2022.

I continued my work the The Inviting Place and some amazing event planners across Oklahoma for events here in town and across the country. I painted so many venues, I now have an image bank to select from. I think that makes me a venue painting professional.

The biggest partnerships this year were definitely painting for the Southern Hills Country Club’s member appreciation party (right after they hosted the big 2022 PGA tournament) and the reveal of the NOUN Hotel guest room art.

My art offerings expanded into digital line illustrations and the very popular painted bottles. Like, lots of bottles. 3 cans of spray paint, over 15 orange labels, plus all the other amazing bottles too. I love being the your custom champagne artist for all your Tulsa celebrations and beyond.

I pushed past custom only and made some really fun prints and patterns. With help of my print on demand service, now you can get Alexa’s Illustrations art on just about anything. My favorite has been SCARVES. Art Deco Scissor tailed Flycatchers, Tulsa Marquee Letters, and Tulsa Toile. Y’all, this toile file is so big that it kept crashing my computer. Had to make it big enough for Tulsa Wallpaper! Who wants some?

You were able to find me out and about selling prints, originals and home goods at the OKGO Market and the Cascia Hall Christmas Tree Lot. Can’t tell you how much I loved meeting you all in person! So many people came up to me and said “I’ve been following you on Instagram and love your work!”

We did some good with partnerships for auctions with the Discovery Lab and Holland Hall. Discovery Lab’s Electric Lime Gala was the first auction since the opening of their brand new Discovery Lab building that houses Tulsa’s amazing children’s museum. The piece features the new building, it’s grand view of the Tulsa Skyline, and it’s neighbor, the Gathering Place. Fifty of these cuties were printed and auctioned off to support the lab. Then, at Holland Hall, we celebrated it’s 100th birthday Dutch style! And, they have a new building too (the Tandy Wellness Center) and it was begging to be painted

And we cannot forget about the custom watercolor portraits. Alexa’s Illustrations reached a big milestone this year with over 200 custom paintings completed! Finally, my fellow cat owners came forward as this year was the year I painted the most cats yet!

2023 will be another big year, stay tuned and follow along on Instagram to be the first to know about new projects and art! Cheers!
